Meeting a New Person Can….

Today I met a fellow animal activist, and someone that inspired me. I’m usually a shy person when meeting people for the first time. So today I was a bit nervous in going to a meeting that I had set up with someone I didn’t know. Only through Facebook , had we met. The reason for this meeting was a simple fact, animal activism. I saw on the news that a woman was going to trial for giving water to thirsty pigs on the way to slaughter. I said to myself, “ I love this woman and I don’t even know her”. I need to help get this message out, I want to stand beside her and stop the abuse of the innocent animals on the way to the end of their already miserable lives. Well, I wrote a letter to this amazing woman, and she got me in touch with a fellow activist that lives in my city and today I met with her.

I realized today, that activism comes in many shapes and forms, and we can all do our part to help. Even by word of mouth, a discussion, a simple act of kindness towards an animal in need is a form of activism. There are days where I think it is never going to end, that we cannot do all we need to do. But today in meeting a new person, with refreshing ideas and positivity I feel a sense of spirit, and that I can make a difference. Two strangers, who have given me a new sense of being an animal lover and defender, today, inspired my blog.
